You Were Created for Much More Than Collecting Shoes and Purses

I've noticed that many of the women I meet who are stuck, angry, bitter, and frustrated with their lives also find themselves stuck on the escalator of life's "shoulds".

If you've found yourself stuck and living in comparison mode, that's understandable. It's the way we are conditioned in school, in church, by our families, and by the media.

I've been in this place and had to make some painful changes and adjustments. It made the people around me uncomfortable. I lost friends. I was judged and criticized. I got my feelings hurt a lot.

Sometimes I made adjustments and kept myself small to keep others feeling comfortable. That never lasted long!

If you are feeling frustrated and unfulfilled, or find yourself stuck in comparison mode, YOU CAN CHANGE THIS! Here's how I did it:

  1. Do what you LOVE. For me, this is reading, writing, creating, and socializing with like-minded friends.

  2. Take classes and courses in things that interest you. NEVER stop learning.

  3. Surround yourself with people who believe in your potential.

  4. Gently separate from people and things that make you feel bad about yourself.

  5. Make a list of all the things you want to do and experience. Put the first steps on your calendar.

  6. Remove clutter from your environment. Release the items, thoughts, papers, and memories that no longer serve your highest and best purpose.

  7. Ask for help from people you respect and admire. Resist the urge to take advice from those who don't have the life, career, relationships, or legacy that you admire.

I promise, nothing is as uncomfortable as living the life that others want for you instead of the life you were meant for. I believe in you.
