After Many Years of Competitive Goal Setting, I STOPPED, and Things Got SO MUCH BETTER

This is the time of year when we spend a lot of time and attention on goal setting and resolutions. You might be surprised to know that when I work with my clients, I lead them away from the habit of goal setting and instead focus on creating a life and career based on intention.

I spent many many years aggressively setting goals, holding myself to task, always armed with a long checklist, and doing, doing, doing. I was way too hard on myself, constantly comparing my work to others, and never satisfied with my results.

In 2012 I learned about the #onewordmovement from my own coach, and fortunately, I now know better. Today, instead of setting goals, I set intentions, and teach my clients to do the same.

It all starts with ONE WORD. I found this strategy to be so significant to my own personal success, that I devoted an entire chapter of my book, Women, LEAD to this topic. If you have the book, check out chapter 9, starting on page 85, or watch the video below.

Implementing this strategy took me from being overwhelmed, overbooked, and overworked to enjoying the life and business I originally intended.

This is the perfect time of year to think about living intentionally vs. goal setting. Happy Monday Morning Mastermind, my friends.

Enjoy this week's brand new video and let me know what YOUR intentions are for 2021.
